Fun in the sun

We went to the pool in St Peter twice last week and Ashlyn LOVED it! It was the first of what will be many trips there this summer :) She likes watching the bigger kids play and enjoys walking around in the water in her little floatie. They let you bring floaties and toys which most pools don't let you and the best part is that it's free! Call us if you want to have a play date at the pool :)

Here's a new trick she's been up to. It makes her laugh and I can't help but laugh at her too!

Ashlyn started saying Mama this morning!!! I'm so excited :)

Baby pool... sort of

This morning I thought it would be a good day to get out the baby pool for Ashlyn. I got it all cleaned up, hosed the deck off and filled it with water. By the time I walked to turn off the hose and came in the house there was a surprise waiting for me.... Gauge decided that he needed to cool off in her pool! What a stinker. I should have know better, we usually have big kiddie pool full of water for him during the summer and he takes a dip every day. Needless to say I had to dump the water out and refill the pool for her. I also put a gate on the deck so Gauge can't go swiming again :)

Visit to New Ulm

We went to New Ulm on Friday to watch cousin Jared play Bitty Ball (4yr olds learning how to play T-ball). He did really good! After his game we went to the park to have lunch and play.

Ashlyn decided that she would help dad get his gear ready for his Canadian fly in fishing trip. Don't worry, there was no line or lures on the rods :) He left Thursday night and should be fishing this morning some time. We can't wait for him to come home next Friday. Hopefully he'll have some fish for us to eat too!

Ashlyn started doing this a little bit on Sunday and by Monday she had it down!

Ashlyn is cutting tooth #7! It's on the bottom left and it's just peaking through. She also looks like she could be getting couple more in the near future!

11 Months Old!

Hard to believe Ashlyn's almost a year old! I keep finding myself thinking about what I was doing a year ago. Getting the nursery ready, washing all her tiny little clothes and anxiously awaiting her arrival. It just doesn't seem like it was that long ago and soon I'll be the mom of a toddler!

This is what she has been up to lately:

• She's finally not sick!
• Cruising... moving from one piece of furniture to another
• Can bend over and pick things up off the floor while standing
• Walks behind her push car
• Crawls all over the house. Her favorite place to go is by the dog
• Pulls herself up to stand
• Loves to dance to music and sort of does the "raise the roof" thing with her hand :)
• Can open and close doors and drawers
• Talks A LOT... she can be very loud and quite serious at times
• Loves to splash and make big waves in the tub with her legs

11 Months Old

Biker Babe

Ashlyn and I had a picnic on Tuesday with my friend Trista and her daughter Alicen (the girls we born 10 days apart) and she was telling me about the new bike trailer she got and how much Alicen likes it so we decide to get one too!

We've gone out a few times this week and she likes it so far. She brings her dolly to play with and giggles a lot! She likes going down the small hill in our back yard and actually likes the bumpy gravel road.

Speed Racer

Ashlyn absoutly loves being pulled around the house in her wagon. The faster, the better! We've made a little track that goes through every room.
