Calling Santa

"Hi Santa, how are you? (burp)... Hi Santa, how are you? Good. Bring me presents? AWESOME!

The Girls

Kaelyn has been a really good baby so far. She is very easy going and content. She really only cries when she is hungry and she has been sleeping good too. Usually only up once or twice a night. She even went 7 hours strait on Christmas eve! As of last Monday, she weighed 10lbs 1oz. She's growing fast just like her sister :)  Speaking of sisters, Ashlyn LOVES to snuggle and kiss her - a lot!  If she hears her crying she'll say "I better check on my sister and make sure she's ok" in her serious voice. Then if Kaelyn stops crying before I get there she is very proud of herself and will tell me that she got her to stop crying. It's so cute. She's getting better at not wanting to touch her eyes and "lovingly" swat at her. She wants Kaelyn to come with us when Ashlyn's getting a bath and she has to be there to read stories before bedtime too. I'm glad she has adjusted to being a big sister better than we thought she would!

We're back!

Since Kaelyn has been born things have been pretty busy here!  Our house is pretty much done, just a little bit of staining and a lot of varnishing left. Not to mention lots of cleaning and putting things back where they belong. It's amazing how much dust is still around. Pretty sure every square inch of our house has to be wiped down and vacuumed. So between trying to take care of the girls and getting ready for the holidays I don't feel like I get much accomplished at the end of the day. The last thing on my to-do list is blogging so my apologies to those who kept coming back to look for an update and there was nothing new for weeks.
So here are a few cute pictures of what Ashlyn has been doing to entertain us. She is really into dressing up lately and can usually be found with a tutu or dress on spinning and dancing around the house. She's such a little sweetheart.

38 weeks!

Where has the time gone?! Only 14 days until baby L is due. Last week I was 3cm dilated and fully effaced. My Dr put me on travel restriction and said I better not hesitate to come in if I think I'm going into labor because he thinks it will go fast, like REALLY fast, since I delivered Ashlyn in four hours start to finish and second babies usually come quicker. I just want to get there in time for the epidural! I need the drugs!!!  I'm still feeling really good. Baby has been very active and likes to dig its heals into my side which can almost be painful at times, strong little thing!I think I finally have everything ready as of today: labor bag packed, Ashlyn's bag packed to stay at grandmas, big sister gift, gift from Ashlyn to baby and the car seat is washed and ready to go. I have another appt on Tuesday and will keep you updated if there is any more progress (not that there can be much more with out going into labor! ha!)

I could still use another good week and a half to feel like our house will be somewhat back in order. Tile is done except for the steps going to the basement, doors and trim will start going in this week and carpet is scheduled to start going in this Friday. Once the carpet is in I will feel like we're pretty much back to normal. I guess we'll just have to see if baby will wait or not, either way it will all work out... we don't really have a choice now do we!

Halloween

Strawberry Shortcake made the rounds for Halloween. Friday we went to the Nicollet ECFE Halloween party and she had so much fun! She even got her picture in the Ledger!  Sunday night we went went to cousin Connor's house to help hand out candy. I think they ate just as much candy as they handed out!

Yum, chocolate!!!

Connor was Bob the Builder....

and apparently Bob doesn't like to wear pants!

Dad was still busy with harvest so we had to visit him in the field.

Wedding Dance!

Joe's cousin Matt married Angie on Oct 30th at Como Zoo & Conservatory's sunken garden (it was gorgeous!) and Ashlyn had a BLAST dancing at their reception. We had to drag her off the dance floor at 10:30pm when she started doing the zombie dance (way past bedtime!).  I thought I had a good video of her showing off her moves but it was way too dark and it didn't turn out.

Showing Papa Tim her moves.

She had lots of fun with the adorable flower girl too.

Gymnastics

Ashlyn has been taking gymnastics classes for the past few weeks and she LOVES it. I mean she REALLY loves it and cried the first couple time when class was over because she didn't want to leave. It's so much fun to watch her have such a good time! Waiting her turn for the vault.

Carving Pumpkins

Joe took advantage of the rain day last Sunday morning and carved a pumpkin with Ashlyn. She thought that the "guts" were really cool and had fun picking them out and playing with them while Joe cut out the face.  Every night she wants to put a new candle in her jack o lantern and see it glow. So cute :)

We didn't get a good picture of them together with it, we were going to do it at night but Joe's been busy in the field every night since trying to wrap up field work.
She's putting it's mouth up to hers.

House update :)

We're making progress! Our doors are in and the cement steps are poured and stamed. Steps look awesome, pattern is rough cut stone and it really looks like it!
Schmidt Siding working on insulation before the siding. Notice the old door, over hang and steps are gone, now it's just a window :)
East side of the house finished... I love it!
