Morel Hunting

We've been out mushroom hunting the past few days and are starting to really find decent sized ones.  The girls have fun in the woods hunting for them and we all love to eat them fried in butter (really, what doesn't taste good fried in butter?!)

 

 

Preschool Graduation

Ashlyn graduated Little Lambs Preschool!
Her class put on a very cute program with singing, dancing and then they had a little reception with cookies and juice for all of the parents/grandparents in the classroom after.  We are so proud of her. She will go to kindergarten at South Elementary in St Peter next spring and she is so excited to be able to go to school all-day, every-day.... lets hope that enthusiasm lasts until high school graduation ;)

Bird Feeders

Ashlyn saw how to make these bird feeders on TV one day. She went out and picked up the pine cones from under our pine trees and told me that she need peanut butter and some bird seed we have out in the garage. It was so fun having her teach Kaelyn and I how to make these. She knew exactly what to do :)

First you need to spread the peanut butter all over the pine cone
 

 

dip it into the bird seed...

until it's all covered

 

 

 then tie on a ribbon on it to hang from the tree
 

ta-da!
 

Big Girl Undies!

Kaelyn is officially potty trained!  She has been doing really good over the past few weeks. Stays dry all night and only has an occasional accident. We are very proud of her!  She is so proud of her big girl undies... if you ask her about them she wants to pull her pants down and show you ;)

 

Hot Tub

We lowered the temp so it's more like nice warm pool...

Warm Weather

Finally some warm weather so we can play outside!!

 

 

 

Baby Pigs

We got new pigs in the barn! The girls love to go out and see them when they are little (about 10 pounds) since they are the perfect size for little hands :)

They start off on pellet feed, we sprinkle it on the two 4'x8' boards that are under the brooders so that they can all get a chance to taste the feed and start eating it out of the feeders. Our pigs come straight from the sow farm where they are weaned just before the truck ride to our barn.

We have wonderful friends/neighbors that watch the girls for us. The girls just love spending time at Chuck and Vicky's house. They usually come home and talk about all the fun stuff they did like bake cookies and get their nails painted... and of course visiting the horses. They get to give them treats, help with chores and go for an occasional ride. They always want to wear their cowgirl boots that Chuck & Vicky bought them and horse related clothes.
