4th of July
We celebrated the 4th of July by going out to Grandma & Grandpa Loula's on Lake Washington July 3rd to watch the fireworks from pontoon on the lake. The girls loved it! Then on the 4th we went to the parade in St Peter and they got a lot of candy! We ended the day with a fire in the backyard, s'mores and a few of our own fireworks. The big guys... bottle rockets, jumping jacks, snakes and of course snaps - a childhood classic! :)
The girls got light up star glasses from Grandma Ruth.

Nicollet Friendship Days

The girls had fun on the rides and tried to win the free bike being given away. Ashlyn was sad she didn't win but they were both happy to go home with some cheese curds :)

31 Weeks

Baby #3 is doing great. I've been feeling pretty good. I was having sciatic pain but a few trips to the chiropractor have been a tremendous help. I'm feeling a little unprepared since we don't know the gender this time but I'm excited to experience the big surprise on delivery day.
The girls are so excited to have a baby in the house. My belly gets a lot of hugs and kisses every day and they talk to it and tell the baby they love it.
Ashlyn went to camp on Monday and had to list three things about herself to help the other campers get to know her and one was that her mom was having a "mystery baby". The instructor thought that was pretty funny and had to ask her to explain what she meant. She asked her if her mom was really pregnant, Ashlyn said that her mom really is pregnant and that we don't know if the baby will be a boy or a girl... it's a mystery! I thought that was a pretty cute story :)

Pool

We dug the pool out of the shed since it was finally nice enough to go swimming. Ashlyn said it finally felt like summer. Lets hope the nice warm weather continues!
Mom, I'm a mermaid! The sun was too bright to look right at me she said ;)
Our other little mermaid woke up from her nap and couldn't wait to get in the pool!

Pheasants

Our 35 baby pheasants came in the mail and we got them set up in the garage.
The girls like to say hello and goodbye to them every time we leave or come home. Joe built an outdoor pen for them and we'll have updated pictures of them soon. They sure do grow fast!

Storm

Meet our new silver labrador puppy Storm!
Saturday, May 18th we drove to Clear Lake, Iowa to pick out our new puppy. We had 2nd pick of 6 females (11 total pups in the litter!). It was almost impossible to tell any of them apart - they were pretty much all identical. After playing and holding all the puppies we decided to take Storm because she was really friendly and let you cuddle her and she had a little spunk when the girls played with her.
Did I mention how adorable she is?! Her blue eyes are so pretty!

Butterflies

The girls found the press-on face tattoos in the art drawer. They wanted to look like butterflies when we went to take supper out to dad who was planting corn.
Poor Ashlyn also had pink eye... and a week later Kaelyn got it :(
