Baby Pigs

We got new pigs in the barn! The girls love to go out and see them when they are little (about 10 pounds) since they are the perfect size for little hands :)

They start off on pellet feed, we sprinkle it on the two 4'x8' boards that are under the brooders so that they can all get a chance to taste the feed and start eating it out of the feeders. Our pigs come straight from the sow farm where they are weaned just before the truck ride to our barn.

We have wonderful friends/neighbors that watch the girls for us. The girls just love spending time at Chuck and Vicky's house. They usually come home and talk about all the fun stuff they did like bake cookies and get their nails painted... and of course visiting the horses. They get to give them treats, help with chores and go for an occasional ride. They always want to wear their cowgirl boots that Chuck & Vicky bought them and horse related clothes.

 

Big Elmo

The Girls

The girls and I sent this picture to say "hi" to dad while he was gone fishing.

Chopsticks

While dad was fishing in South Dakota, the girls and I went to Tokyo Hibachi.  Ashlyn was excited to try the chopsticks. She actually did pretty good too!

Bathing Beauties...

These two fish love to "swim" in the bathtub. Ashlyn has a Green Lantern tattoo from the Bode boys' birthday party that has been on for weeks.
And I'm not sure why she has such a surprised look on her face!

Makeover

Ashlyn gave me a makeover. She brushed my hair and then added a few bows/clips to really dress it up! She thought I looked like Rapunzel when she gets her hair done by the little girls :)

The girls came with me to a doctor appointment for Baby #3 and they were really good... so we went for frozen yogurt at CherryBerry!

We went to check out a new bedroom set for Kaelyn's big girl room at the furniture store and they thought that this chair was pretty cool. It has power recline and even massaged them :)

Baby Fish!

Exciting things are going on in our fish tank!  One of our Molly's had babies...
we've counted nine so far but I think there are some more hiding in the grass.
(Fun Fact: did you know that Mollies are livebearers... they don't lay eggs, their young come out swimming!)

20 weeks

Half way!

I had the "big" ultrasound (anatomy scan) this morning to and everything looked great! Baby was very active and even gave the technician a thumbs up :)  We have decided to be team green and not find out if we are having a boy or girl. We found out with both of the girls and since this is our last pregnancy we thought it would be fun to experience the surprise at delivery. I'm not going to lie, it's driving me a little crazy not knowing since I'm a planner... but I know everything will be just fine :) Picking names is the hardest part and coming up with two names that we both love is so hard! We don't have any picked yet and won't share them anyways!  Ashlyn has been coming up with some great ones. She also thinks that the gender is determined by what you name the baby.
Girl name = girl. Boy names = boy...  if only it was that easy!

Kaelyn's big girl bed

We finally put the toddler rail on Kaelyn's crib.  She will be moving into her big girl room across the hall in a few short months.  She was so excited to help change it over. Mommy on the other hand was a little nervous about how well she would sleep once she could get out of her bed.  She is a rock star sleeper and we didn't want that to change... and so far it hasn't!!!  She hasn't even gotten out of her bed once or woken up early from nap or overnight. The first night she slept in until 7:45am!  She will sit up in bed and call for me to come get her and then she'll jump into my arms.... then she usually says that she slept good :)  Mommy is happy to say that the transition has been a complete success!
