Carving Pumpkins

Joe took advantage of the rain day last Sunday morning and carved a pumpkin with Ashlyn. She thought that the "guts" were really cool and had fun picking them out and playing with them while Joe cut out the face.  Every night she wants to put a new candle in her jack o lantern and see it glow. So cute :)

We didn't get a good picture of them together with it, we were going to do it at night but Joe's been busy in the field every night since trying to wrap up field work.
She's putting it's mouth up to hers.

House update :)

We're making progress! Our doors are in and the cement steps are poured and stamed. Steps look awesome, pattern is rough cut stone and it really looks like it!
Schmidt Siding working on insulation before the siding. Notice the old door, over hang and steps are gone, now it's just a window :)
East side of the house finished... I love it!

Help Decorating

Ashlyn spent the night at Grandma Deb & Grandpa Jim's last Saturday night and stayed all day Sunday so I could get a few things done at home. She had so much fun helping decorate their yard for fall. She even begged grandma to not bring her home Sunday night :)

34 weeks!

Wow, 34 weeks! I'm still having a hard time believing that I'm really that close to my due date. I'm definitely feeling big. It's getting harder to put my socks on and I do catch my self trying to fit places that I just don't. Joe took my picture tonight and said I'm "definitely protruding" and looking at the pictures, I really am!

Dr appointment this morning went well. Everything is measuring right on track. Baby is head down and very active. I haven't had any issues with contractions since that one time so that's great too :)  Overall I'm feeling great!

farm life

There is always something to do on the farm.  Ashlyn absolutly loves to be outside exploring and getting dirty.

Playing in some corn that leaked out of the grain leg.

Watching daddy fix the grain leg way up high.
She was pretty concerned about how he was going to get down.

Visiting the pigs tonight. She just loves going in the pens.
They were giving her hands "kisses" and she was even able to give one a quick hug.

the wall is down!

We are making steady progress on our house. The interior wall came down yesterday and we finally get to see what our new space will look like. We LOVE it! Drywall will start next week. I'm starting to see the light at the end of the tunnel :)

Just a few more windows to be installed. The forms for the front entry slab/steps/sidewalk are being put together today and cement will be poured and stamped next week.
Siding is scheduled to be put on in 2 weeks or so.

Cutting it out in sections

Wide open space!

Bubble Bath!

Ashlyn has really been into bubble baths with LOTS of bubbles lately. She likes to put bubble "whiskers" on her cheeks just like daddy's whiskers. (FYI: Daddy doesn't shave during harvest so he's getting pretty hairy!)

Pumpkinfest

We went to Pumpkinfest with Lyndsey, Jared, Chloe, Morgan and Grandma Deb last Sunday in New Ulm. Ashlyn had fun looking at all the pumpkins and animals. She did the pumpkin roll down the big hill and played a few games. Her favorite part was the train ride.

She was SO excited to go on the train. She talked about it for days.

She wanted cotton candy so I used it to lure her out to the truck to go home.
She ate the whole bag before we got home!

Fun at G&G Loula's

Ashlyn spent part of the day at G&G Loula's last Saturday so I could look for light fixtures and run errands in Mankato. As you can see, she had a great time like always!

a mischievous look...

Riding down the hill on her bike, she likes to go fast!

bugs and more bugs

We have bugs and more bugs outside at our house. Ashlyn thought she had to find the mommy and daddy for each bug she found. Thanfully there were plenty of them around!

Fun in the field

missing daddy

Ashlyn has been missing daddy a lot lately. She's used to seeing him a lot more during the day and playing with him at night before bed. During harvest time we try to ride with him at least once a day. Tonight she was giving him lots of hugs and trying to snuggle him in he combine. It was really cute.

Waiting for the combine to get back to our side of the field.

BIG hugs!

more hugs :)
