Memorial Weekend

I feel like I haven't blogged in a while. The month of May has been a sick one at the Loula house. Ashlyn and I have been battling colds for weeks. I had bronchitis and was antibotics last week and just when I thought Ashlyn was getting better she came down with a whole new cough and cold. We took her in Tuesday and she had a slight ear infection (her first) so they put her on ammoxiciilon. I happy to say that she is feeling much better but she HATES taking the 1tsp of medicine twice a day. I have to wrap her up like a buritto in a bath towel and force her to take it. This is not fun for either of us. I have tried to add it to yogurt and she spits it right out. It has such a strong flavor, I don't know what else I could mix it with that she would finish eating. Any suggestions would be appreciated since we have 5 more days to take it!

Besides being sick we had a really fun Memorial weekend. We had our cousin Gabbie's 3rd birthday party on Friday night. Saturday we went out to the lake to put the boat and lift in. Ashlyn had a great time enjoying the beautiful weather and playing with cousin Connor.

 

Sunday we went to Grommersch's beautiful new house in Nicollet for a grill out with a bunch a friends and they had bean bag tournament. I'm proud to say that Joe and his partner Scot won 1st place! Whoo hoo!  Ashlyn and her baby (see baby by stearing wheel) had fun getting pushed around by dad... this car may be on her birthday wish list :)

 

Monday we enjoyed a day at home. Ashlyn likes to crawl over to Gauge and watch him play with his toys. Here he was trying to share his piggy toy with her. They're buddies already!

 

Crawling!

She has been doing this for the last week pretty well. Now she is a girl on the move! If she's not scooting around or crawling, she wants you to help her walk all over the place. Last night she crawled across the kitchen to get to the dog and pet him. I'm not sure who was more excited, Ashlyn or Gauge :)

Her new word is baby. It's so cute. She likes to point at the pictures on our fridge and usually picks out cousin Chloe's birth announcement and says baby. She's defiantly all girl... talking up a storm.  I can just see our phone bills in 13 years!

Happy Mother's Day!

Happy Mother's Day! Joe and Ashlyn got me a beautiful pink gold pendant necklace with an "A" on the front with a little diamond and Ashlyn's birthdate on the back. I just love it. Mother's day means so much more now that I am a mom and it makes me appreciate all the mothers in my life that much more!

10 Months Old

Ashlyn has been a busy little girl the last month. She is growing up so fast. It hardly seems like she's a baby anymore which is sad but exciting at the same time. Only two more months until her birthday and then she'll be a toddler!

• Can wave bye-bye
• Points at EVERYTHING!
• Started sleeping on her tummy most of the time
• Scoots around in circles while sitting using her hand to push herself butt first
• Army crawls forward on her belly and can go around in circles easily
• Loves to stand holding onto furniture
• Started walking with assistance
• Raises her hands when she wants to be picked up
• Smiles at almost everyone while out and about... we hear, "what a happy baby" all the time :)
• Talks constantly, says uh-oh a lot!
• Loves to throw things on the floor for you to pick up
• Drinks from her straw sippy cup like a pro
• Starts spitting food when she's full, not very lady like!
• Likes to sit outside on her blanket on nice days and watch the dog run around and birds on the feeder. (She would also likes to eat sticks and grass if mommy let her!)

Aqua Baby!

Ashlyn completed her Aqua Babies class this past Thursday. She absolutly loved the water! She worked on the front float, back float, jumping into the water and we got to test out her new life jacket. Dad and Grandma Ruth each came one night and watched Ashlyn swim and took some pictures. 

I can't wait until it's nice enough to take her to the outdoor kiddie pool :)

9 Month Pictures

Here are Ashlyn's 9 month pictures. They turned out really good! The photo shoot was also a part of a nation wide cutie contest. I'm not sure if they picked a winner yet but she's the winner in our eyes!!

SIX

Six is the number of teeth Ashlyn has! Early last week two more of her top teeth came through and just yesterday another one popped through! Of course this means she has been chewing on EVERYTHING!!

It's a Girl!

My sister Lyndsey and her husband Keith had a little girl last night!  She was induced so we knew that the baby would be born yesterday but it seemed like we had to wait forever to meet her... but it was worth it! She is just perfect. Mom and baby are doing well (dad is doing good too!) Ashlyn and I went over to meet her last night and took a few pictures.
