Ashlyn broke her arm

Ashlyn fell off of her toy bouncy horse Tuesday morning at 7:30am while she was trying to get off... she fell with her arm stretched out to the side and behind her.  Kaelyn was sitting on my lap and we watched it happen. I knew she was in a lot of pain and cried an unusual cry for over an hour. I called the doctor and they thought it sounded like she probably dislocated her elbow so we made an appointment to come in and have them relocate it at 10am. Unfortunately, when he tried to do the magic move of bending and turning her arm to pop the bone back into place, it just about sent poor Ashlyn off the table. She SCREAMED and really cried... I felt so bad.  Then they sent her for x-rays and what do you know... she had a fracture :( So off to the Orthopedic and Fracture Clinic to see Dr. Kyle Swanson. He said that it is technically called a "Supracondylar Humerus Fracture". She needed to be put in a temporary cast till Friday when she could get a permanent cast. She was excited to be able to pick out a pink one :)  So they got her all wrapped up and sent us home with a sling. She really did amazing the whole day, from x-rays to being examined, answering questions and getting her cast. I'm really proud of how brave she is. She will need to wear her pink cast for 4.5 weeks.  Hopefully the time will fly by!

Just after getting her temporary cast

Hard to see in this picture, the fracture is between the yellow arrows
(the bright white "s" line is not the break)

Back on Friday to have the pink cast put on,
she was excited about that!

She didn't like the smell of the alcohol that they wiped her arm down with
Apparently they were short staffed,
I had to help hold her arm while they wrapped it

ta-da! Pink!

Double check to make sure everything still looked good, check!

Since grandma Ruth came with to help with Kaelyn and take some pictures, we decide to meet grandpa Tim and go out to eat at Boulder Tap after her appointment... yum!

Little Lambs Preschool Christmas Program

Ashlyn had her Christmas program on Friday, December 21st.  It was adorable! They had an amazing 17 songs/saying that the ten students preformed. I was really impressed! My favorite was the "Reindeer Pokey" (hokey pokey) song and dance.  After their program, all of the parents and grandparents were invited down to their room to watch them do their gift exchange and have some cookies and juice.  What a great way to start off the holidays!

Santa

I took the girls to meet Santa while Joe was out west snowmobiling.
Ashlyn sat right on his lap and told him everything she wanted - pink ice skates, pink binoculars, pink scooter.... Kaelyn on the other hand would not get close to him.
I had to sit with her but she still wouldn't talk!

Our Silly Elf Jingle

Jingle has been a busy little elf.
I'm glad that he's not one of those naughty elves... he just silly!
The girls just LOVE looking for him each morning. It's so much fun!

Getting into all the flower clips and hair bows in the bathroom

The girls were painting the day before so I guess
Jingle wanted to do a little painting of himself.

Baked cookies and decorated them with the girls initials... silly Jingle!

Sledding

First Snow!

The girls wanted to go outside as soon as they woke up and saw all the snow this morning! So we dug out all of our snow gear and headed outside.  It was perfect snow for making snowmen... or as we call them - snowgirls :)

This is what you do when you don't have any hills for sledding in your yard....
get out the Ranger and get pulled around by daddy!

Then Kaelyn wanted to join in on the fun

Of course we had to make snowgirls.
The snow was so sticky that it was picking up all the leaves, grass and dirt.
We made two; snowgirl Kaelyn & snowgirl Ashlyn (who is pictured behind daddy)
Sorry, no picture of Kaelyn's snowgirl, my camera was getting too wet from all the snow.

Decorating the tree

We got out our tree and started decorating the house for Christmas the day after Thanksgiving.  We had Christmas music on and Ashlyn put on her pretty red holiday dress for the special occasion.

The girls were most excited about the singing stuffed animals... thankfully it only took a week for the initial excitement of having them sing over and over and over (get the idea?) to wear off... now it's only a couple times a day.

We left the ornaments just where the girls put them. They had me put a few up high but the majority are in the middle and bottom. Love it!

Happy St. Nick's Day!

St. Nick dropped off new pajamas for the girls to wear for the holidays.  They couldn't wait to get out of the bath and put on their adorable new pj's!

Show me your favorite ornament....
