Leech Lake - June 2012

Seems like the weeks have just flown by since we were on our family vacation at the Spirit of the North on Leech Lake.  We had a great time.  Grandma Deb joined us again this year. It makes it more of a vacation for mom and dad, that's for sure!  Thanks Grandma Deb for all you help that week. The girls had a blast!

I helped Ashlyn put the baby seat that she got for her birthday on her bike yesterday. 

She loves it!

Family Vacation

We took our annual family vacation up to
Spirit of the North on Leech lake last week.
Fun, relaxing and beautiful weather!

Swimming Lessons

6-13-12

Ashlyn took swimming lessons again this year. She was in the Dolphin class where she learned how to bob under water and proper strokes. She was really excited that she passed the class and gets to be a Shark next year!


 

 

 

 

 

 

6-11-12

The girls and I went to the St Peter library to "Meet the Owls"  There were a lot of kids there so we were crammed in and towards the back.  We got to see owls, a hawk and even a bald eagle. We went to the Read and Feed at the high school after with some of our friends. Then after Kaelyn took a nap we went over to our neighbors house to see their baby kitties and   It was a  fun day!

Fun on the Patio

Friday 6-1-12

The morning started out a little chilly but by the afternoon the girls had fun blowing bubbles and playing in the sandbox. Then they needed to cool off with a freeze pop!

Then we had supper on the patio and watched daddy spray the corn around the house. 

Kaelyn was dipping her apple slices in ketchup, she sure loves dip!

The girls gave me some funny faces too!

Memorial Weekend

We went out to the lake to enjoy the great weather. 

Kaelyn didn't want to swim in the cold lake but of course Ashlyn did!

After the big race the girls got their hair colored and Ashlyn had her face painted.
Kaelyn didn't want her face done so she did both of her hands.

It looked silly but her cracked lip healed beautifully!

Kaelyn 18 months

Our sweet little girls is already 18 months old! She has changed so much in the past few months. It is so much fun to watch her learn and grow. Her big sister has been a great teacher so far,showing her lots of dance moves and how to cross her arms when she's mad. They have a classic love/struggle sisterly bond, best buddies one minute, then fighting over toys the next. Partners in crime! (Coloring each others arms with permanent marker comes to mind...) They light up each morning when they see each other and give hugs and kisses to each other at bed time. So sweet!

Kaelyn's 18 month stats:

Height: 35" (99%)

Weight: 30lbs 5oz (99%)

Head: 19.5" (98%)

Our little Giraffe is perfectly proportioned!

Here is what she has been up to lately:

~ Getting taller, it's the #1 comment everyone says when they see her, "she's so tall!"

~ Talking up a storm, lots of babbling but many words too. A few are: momma, dada, bye, mine, baby, please, thank you, and her favorite... NO!

~ Knows what many animals say.

~ Can point out all the animals on Old McDonald's farm

~ Loves to have you read books to her

~ Can follow instructions like, "go in the living room and get the ball"

~ Likes to play Barbies with Ashlyn

~ Tries to do anything her big sister is doing

~ Loves being outside, usually upset when its time to go inside.

~ Enjoys bath time, will lay on her belly and "swim" in the tub

~ Tries to dress herself

~ Favorite movie is Gnomeo & Juliet, dances like crazy to the ending song

~ Waves hello to everyone - literally!

~ Wants her window down while driving in the car

~ Usually pretty darn happy, she is suffering with Hand, Foot and Mouth disease right now so she's not a happy camper :(

~ Goes to sleep sooo good! Lay her down wide awake with her sippy cup of milk & blanket and she's happy. She even gives a good night kiss and hug with out being asked (love it!)

~ Naps once a day for 1.5 - 2hrs, anywhere between 10am and 1pm

~ Must have her finger nails and toes painted if she see her sister getting hers done.

~ Is starting to have just enough hair to put tiny clips in the front

~ Does not like to be in a dirty diaper, she will come and tell you (pat her bottom) if it's dirty, then go lay down to get changed

~ Loves tractor rides with daddy and gets upset if only Ashlyn gets to go (Ashlyn goes for long, couple hour rides, Kaelyn is more of a 20 minute rider so far!)

~ LOVES to dance to any kind of music, commercials, ring tones, etc... she can really move her hips!

~ She is sweet as can be, we love you little Weasel
