Ashlyn was so excited to help cut daddy's hair. She did a pretty good job too!

Bye-bye....

BOTTLE!
She had a hard time giving up her bottle but it's officially gone as of last Sunday!

 

This was the challenging move to perfect... the tilt-up.
Her bottle did not require her to tip it up (drop-ins) so it took a while to like her sippy.
Especially at nap and bed time.

SNOW!!!

Ashlyn was SO EXCITED to see snow this morning when she woke up!  The girls got their snow suits on and headed out to play in the snow. Kaelyn thought the sledding was fun, the faster she went the more she giggled.

I pulled them in the big sled around the whole yard.

Christmas 2011 - part 1

Christmas morning!

We had to wake up Kaelyn to start opening presents at 8am... Ashlyn couldn't wait any longer!

Santa brought Ashlyn what she has been asking for since October....
a pink gun!

Daddy restored his old pedal tractor for the girls.
Kaelyn LOVED getting pushed around the house!

Posing with her pink BB Gun before bed, she can't wait to "go hunting with dad to shoot deer, pheasants, turkeys and geese".  It may be a few years before that happens.
She'll have to work on target practice in the mean time with daddy.

Failed Christmas Card

After I took the girls' individual pictures we tried to get all three of them together for a possible Christmas card shot.... as you can see it didn't work!

Driving the 630

Joe let Ashlyn drive the 630 around the yard. I think they made about 5 laps and did some cookies :)

Swing

Kaelyn got her own swing downstairs so she can swing with her big sister.  She had fun watching her sister be silly on the slide.

Dare Devil

Kaelyn has no fear. She loves to climb anything that she can get her little body up on.

 

St. Nick

St. Nick brought the girls their very own Elf on a Shelf. We named him Jingle and he's been doing some silly things the past few days. His first morning here the girls found him riding the camel in our nativity.


 

Plowing Snow

Kaelyn's one year stats

Kaelyn went to visit Dr Knudson on 11-22-11 for her one year check up and she is doing great! She had to get three shots and then the finger prick blood draw. They all made her cry pretty hard.  Luckily a sucker made her feel better quick. She napped for a total of five hours that day. Wow!

 She has been one busy little girl... getting herself in to all sorts of things!  Here is what she is up to at one year old:

~ Sleeping through the night 8pm - 7am (awesome!!)

~ Naps once a day, usually at 11am for about two hours

~ Loving bath time, tries to blow bubbles in the water

~ Eats EVERYTHING! So far the only things she doesn't like are green olives and breakfast sausage

~ DOES NOT like getting her face and hands cleaned up after eating. She bucks in her seat, shakes her head and cries every time....

~ Likes to try to use a fork while eating and she's fairly successful!

~ Working on getting rid of the bottle, tolerates a sippy cup when she's not tired but refuses it when she's sleepy or really thirsty

~ Learning to put her bottle in the cup holder while in her car seat instead of dropping it on the floor

~ Pulls herself up to a standing position

~ Cruises along the furniture

~ Sits down from a standing position (big accomplishment since it was really making her mad (aka throw a fit, grunt and scream) that she was stuck standing and needed help getting down)

~ Can walk with the assistance of her push toy

~ Climbs stairs... fast!

~ Climbs onto the fireplace. It's one of her favorite places to sit

~ Points and grunts at what she wants and can be very loud!

~ Has learned how to give the evil eye - she's very dramatic

~ When you say puppy, she says "woof"

~ Still says uh-oh, mama and dada "Daaaadaaa" when she's looking for him - so cute!

~ Sort of hums the ABC song, you can recognize the tune

~ Thinks the itsy bitsy spider song is really funny and like it when the spider tickles her

~ Loves to play peek-a-boo

~ If her blanket or another soft pillow etc is laying on the floor she will dive into it and snuggle it

~ Tries to copy her big sister all the time, singing into a microphone, banging a drum, yelling, dancing etc.

~ She is a little snuggle bug, give good hugs and is learning how to give kisses.
